Give your skin a holiday
Whether you are heading off to sunnier climes or not, chances are your holiday will mean more time spent outside. Who hasn’t fallen fowl to sun burn on a windy day or come home from a holiday sporting the ‘weathered’ look?
In addition to the obligatory sun lotion and after-sun, you may also like to consider your general beauty routine. We are all told that the sun and wind are de-hydrating, but have you considering that your choice of shower gel and hand wash could be contributing to that dehydration too?
In this article Dr Chris van Tulleken considers what chemicals found in the majority of skincare products are doing to our skin.
Dr Chris conducted an experiment which showed how the common ingredient SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) caused increased loss of moisture from his skin.
It stands to reason that if the sun and wind are already contributing to moisture loss, you wouldn’t want to further increase that by showering in an SLS based product.
At No Secrets we do not use SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) or SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulphate) in our products. We have sought out natural alternatives which do not strip the skin of its natural moisture. Formulated around coconut oil, cocoa butter and rich shea nut butter, our shower creams leave the skin feeling beautifully soft and less in need to body lotion; really helpful if you’re holidaying in a sunny or breezy location which can dehydrate the skin. If you want to give your skin a holiday stock up with our 30ml Travel Size shower creams https://nosecretsbeauty.com/collections/travel-collection
We hope this summer you’ll find your chance to rest, recharge and rebalance your skin with the things nature has to offer.
