Me Time Musings, February 2021
What we're reading, cooking, thinking about and loving this month. Enjoy!
Bath-time reading...Have been enjoying The Five Minute Garden by Laetitia Maklouf. This is a lovely hard back book (perfect for a gift) which you can dip and in out of. It gives tips for each month of the year and discusses how, by spending just 5 mins at a time, slowly you will get your garden under control. The key is to do it every day. Sounds a fabulous idea for busy people and also ensures engaging with your garden on a daily basis, so that you can see, and enjoy, little changes. |
Thinking...This Valentine's Day is a chance, not only to say 'I love you' to a significant other, but also to say 'I love you', or 'I miss you', to those friends and family that we are missing so much. I love these tokens made by a jeweller local to us. They perfectly capture both of those thoughts and are in No Secrets copper tones! |
Loving ...A few months ago we turned 'reviews' on, on our website. We have been overwhelmed by the positivity of your responses. When you live and breathe a product - it is so dear to you - that to open it up to comment requires courage. Well thank-you for the reviews. We are simply loving them and are so grateful for your feedback. 'I tried the Solo Bar Eleven for the first time last week after recently finding your company online and instantly falling in love with your products. I can’t tell you how much I’m in love with this little bar. The scent is truly DIVINE and lasts on your hair and skin for ages, (even after washing my hands at the kitchen sink with the obligatory anti bacterial soap numerous times afterwards) I can still smell it. I’d wanted to try something like this on my hair for a while but wasn’t sure which of the many newly emerging brands to go with. I did know that I wanted to try this as soon as I’d used your beautiful shower products though. My hair is kind of medium length but it only needed two small swirls to produce enough lather to make it feel like normal shampoo and there was enough left on my hands to wash the rest of my body! I honestly can’t praise it enough. I have stocked up on shower gel while it’s on offer and have loved all the samples that you’ve sent out with the orders. I especially love the hand and body butter but (and this is literally the only downside) it’s probably out of my price range. I might just have to start a hand care fund...' |
Cooking...Every so often you come across something that is amazing. The Baking Explorer has created this chocolate cake, which, in my view, is simply spectacular! It includes a courgette, some wholemeal flour and is diary free (if you use a non-diary yoghurt which I did). I went for a natural sugar substitute Natvia which has zero calories. What is not to like? I'm off to Bake it again now!!! |
