SOLO Shampoo & Body Bar is a Winner Baby!
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s it like to use a bar?
We appreciate that, the first time you use a bar, is a bit scary, but Solo is easy to use. You can either create some lather in your hands and apply it to your hair, or you can rub the bar into the roots of your hair and work up the lather from there.
If using as a body bar, we suggest creating lather in your hands, placing the bar down, and then applying the lather over your body. If you take the bar and rub it up and down your limbs, it won’t last as long!
You can also use a ‘soap saver’ bag and apply the bar through the bag. See Accessories.
We recommend storing the bar on a soap ladder, or in a dish that drains, outside of the shower. That way the bar hardens between uses and, therefore, lasts longer. Most importantly, the bar should not sit in water, as it will soften and not last as long.
Can I use it everywhere?
Solo is formulated as a head to toe product. I, and many customers, also use it on their face. As long as you don’t have specific skin conditions, this may work for you too.
Oh and, by the way, it also works as an emergency clothes wash if you’re away!
Solo is about freedom from multiple bottles, so experiment and let us know how you get on!
Can children use Solo?
Solo is formulated for anyone aged 5 and over.
Does it lather?
Absolutely! And it you apply to your hair, rinse and repeat, the lather really kicks in. You can create even more lather by using a Konjac sponge (see Accessories).
How long does it last?
It depends on the length of your hair. On my shoulder length, thick hair, a bar can last 20+ washes.
When travelling, our experience is that one bar, if used as recommended, will last for at least 2 weeks for one person.
Does my hair have to get used to it?
Absolutely not! There is no need for your hair to 'get used' to Solo Bars.
And it is not a problem to switch between other brands of shampoo and Solo.
Can I use on colour treated hair?
Yes, Solo is sulphate free so doesn’t affect your hair colour. Infact, some clients say that, since switching to Solo, their colour lasts longer.
Can I use on curly hair?
Yes, customers with curly hair have found the natural oils in Solo support their curls, making them easier to manage. Some customers also report a reduction in frizz.
How often do I need to wash my hair?
It is gentle enough to use every day but customers tell us that, having switched to Solo, they only need to wash their hair twice a week.
What if it doesn’t suit my scalp?
If Solo does not suit your skin or scalp, get in contact with us within 30 days of purchase to start your return process.
