Sustainability & Ethos
Environment
In case it’s not clear, at No Secrets we are all about transparency, particularly with the ingredients in our products. We are very keen to emphasize the plant-based nature of these ingredients and that it was hidden nasties in many other brands, which inspired Lorna, our Founder, to create our beautiful range.
This transparency, and the ethos that lies behind it, also applies to our approach to sustainability and our impact on the environment. We are committed to ensuring our ‘planet footprint’ is as light as possible, whether in our manufacturing processes, packaging, recycling and carbon footprint.
As a small business, we are continuously learning as we go and are determined never to be complacent in this area.
Ingredients
All our ingredients are bio-degradable and are safe to be washed into rivers and oceans making No Secrets safe for the environment as well as your body. Wherever possible we use certified organic ingredients.
Essential Oils
We use the purest and highest quality essential oils in all our products. All our essential oils are sourced carefully with integrity. For more information about the therapeutic effects of our oils and how they are used see our ingredients page.
Base Ingredients
Our base ingredients are naturally derived from raw items such as coconut, cocoa and shea nut and our wax comes from soya and rapeseed. We believe in the power of nature and are committed to finding naturally derived ingredients proven to deliver results.
Ingredients we avoid
At No Secrets we understand that what we put on our skin actually ends up inside us, so it is really important to ensure that it is of the utmost quality. We do not use any of the following ingredients:
Petrochemicals
Sulphates (ALS, SLS)
Artificial colours
Parabens
Microbeads
Silicones
Propylene glycol
Phthalates
PEGS
Palm Oil
Vegan
No Secrets products are vegan friendly and have been created for everyone to use, from children to adults, including those with sensitive skin (some dogs have even been shampoo’d with the shower gel!). We are currently awaiting accreditation from The Vegan Society.
Cruelty Free
It seems it is a little known fact that in most countries (except China) it is illegal to sell cosmetic products which have been tested on animals. Therefore, by definition, none of our products have been used in this way.
Nevertheless, we are in the process of applying for approval from the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme.

Packaging
We aim to avoid single use plastic wherever possible. With our newest products, the range of Solo Bars, we have chosen Tin which is infinitely recyclable. Our Hand & Body Butter we have chosen glass jars, which are of course fully recyclable, although also great for repurposing!
Our original range of shower creams were in plastic (where glass could be a little hazardous) but the plastic is 100% recyclable. At the moment our lids and pumps are not currently recyclable. We are investigating options in this respect; however, we have moved away from these products due to the 'plastic issue' and with all new entrants to our range we are committed to not using plastic.
The rest of our packaging, boxes and tissue are fully recyclable. Our crinkle cut shredded paper is made from 80% recycled material and is 100% recyclable. Our fabulous branded boxes are great for storing all sorts of bits and pieces, perhaps in the kitchen, bedroom or the garage!
Made in England
No Secrets is proud to be a British company. All of our products are manufactured in England and we use British suppliers wherever possible. Our products are produced in small batches, ensuring the quality is of the highest order and there is little wastage.
Charities
We regularly donate products for charity events, raffles etc.
We donated in excess of 1000 bottles of shower cream and hand wash to food banks during 2023 and during the Covid lock downs we donated 500+ bottles of hand cleanser to hospital staff. As a small company this equated to a significant donation.
